WHAT WE DO AT ALT HAUS
At Alt Haus, we do things differently. Based in Saskatoon, we are your one-stop destination for interior design, murals, furniture, art, home goods, vintage finds, and unique accessories. More than just a shop, Alt Haus is an inspiring hub where creativity and community come together.
We draw inspiration from art, travel, fashion, music, and film, infusing every project and product with personality and style. Our mission is to breathe life into your spaces, making your home or business more exciting and meaningful through our collaborative design services, custom murals, and a curated retail experience.
Alt Haus was founded by queer power couple Miranda Van Young, a registered interior designer, and Jo Van Young, a mural artist. Together, we’ve built a one-of-a-kind in-store and online shopping experience that highlights local makers, independent artists, and creative voices from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and beyond. We specialize in curating mid century inspired furniture pieces, as well as modern lifestyle items to help you create your own dreamy space.

Built on Miranda’s extensive training as a registered interior designer and experience designing commercial and residential spaces, we want to collaborate with you to create your ultimate space. From space planning, construction drawings, 3d renderings, finish, fixture and furniture selections, and decorating, we’ve got you covered, no matter the scope.
Murals
Bring your space to life with a one-of-a-kind mural or paint feature by our in house mural artist, Jo Van Young. We can provide custom designed murals for your home or business, bringing your space to the next level with a bold and unique design. We have an extensive portfolio of mural designs and custom art pieces we have completed, and would love to help you amp up your space with one!

Our brick and mortar location is a wonderful place to see what we do, get inspired and pick up something interesting for yourself, your home or a loved one. We have a great selection of home goods, prints, original art, apparel, and accessories for any price range or style. Alt Haus also has a curated selection of furniture items available in store, and much more available through order on our extensive website and suppliers, with shipping times as little as 2-3 weeks for in stock items with our suppliers. We offer drop ship on furniture items throughout Canada, and shipping on other items (excluding large artwork) worldwide.
